I got a notice today that my "automatic renewal date" for my LJ paid account is approaching. But I can't figure out how to stop the automatic renewal. Advice welcome.

Just a reminder that I no longer post personal journal entries here. Go to Insane journal
for that. I keep this account for reading locked entries, posting comments, and maintaining communities-- though I may pass on the latter to others.
Livejournal is instituting a "three strike rule" against content that is questionable rather than flagrant violations of their Terms of Service. This is an improvement. This makes me happy for those who keep using Livejournal. (Although right now they're being stupid and giving people "strikes" for content they already deleted, because it's still cached on the servers somewhere.) However, I am not happy enough to keep using this service. I'm especially not happy enough to keep paying for this service, and when my paid account expires I'll start seeing advertisements, so SixApart will still be making money off of me. On the other hand, Insanejournal charges just $40 for a permanent membership right now, not much more than a single year here.

I am discontent with Livejournal. They want to prevent people from providing me with porn. I get cranky when I don't get my porn. When I'm cranky I'm not as productive at work. I imagine there are other people who are equally cranky. Soon the economy will begin to decline due to a crankiness-induced dive in productivity around the country. And it will all be Livejournal's fault.
My paid account is up mid-October. Between now and then I will slowly start to phase over to another journal site. I will still keep this account to keep in touch with those of you on livejournal only, but it'll be like my myspace account and see minimal activity.
As part of this phasing-over process I'm unsubscribing from several of your journals. You're all very interesting people, but I won't be reading and commenting often enough to keep up with things. If you wish to friend me over at Insane journal
, I will friend you back at that site. I also have a Greatest Journal.

Someone has written a very articulate letter addressed to LJ/SA regarding the recent snafus. Even if you think there is no actual snafu occuring, the questions asked and points brought up in the letter are important and valid. Please take the time to read it: Open Letter to Livejournal and Six Apart

Tonight we ate dinner at home! It was a pre-cooked thing we bought at the grocery store deli and then warmed up, but it was still very tasty. And I cut up a bell pepper and cucumber for a little salad.

Internet! At! HOME!Shocking.
In other news, today we're going to a hockey game. I was going to watch Boy play soccer after, but that was canceled. Sunday he's going skiing. Not sure what I'll do. Boy seems to want me to snowshoe.

At Boy's work again. Still no phone or internet at home. But! Boy installed the mailbox today, which means we should start receiving mail. I'm waiting until we get a bill or somesuch before I distribute the new address. In the meantime, enjoy some random pictures:Little blue flowers

. Boy works on his giant truck in front of the new mailbox.
We went and bought little number stickers to put on it today. Some other flowers
I haven't identified yet. In the side yard, vines
with little purple flowers. Something
that looks like it'll make flowers later. Mystery flowers

I had been about to mail out some postcards to people today, but then I realized at least one of the people I had been thinking of has moved in the past year, so I thought it was time for an address poll:
My previous address poll was here
, if you're wondering what current address I have on file for you (except for inangkor
, I do have your new address).
I'm actually making this post public (though the poll is still private; only me and you can see your address) and setting anonymous comments as screened in case any non-LJ users who read this want to give me their address.

Also, is LJ giving anyone else time-stamp problems? It thinks it's 4:39am. It normally pulls time from my computer's clock, but not lately.
